Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani lands yet another glossy cover. The Vogue January 2013 cover star talks being in a band, having a family and maintaing the balance in her busy life. The singer poses with her bandmates for a photographer Annie Leibovitz. Stefani wears a Saint Laurent gold sequined blazer with a white blouse and a big brimmed black hat for the cover.

The punk theme of the 2013 Met Gala in New York City was not lost on Gwen Stefani, who is no stranger to a certain level of grunge appeal—and a good amount of leather and studs.

But the No Doubt songstress left off the shiny embellishment tonight, instead letting her custom confection by Maison Martin Margiela have center stage.

The elegant and edgy design, which featured an asymmetrical, midriff-flaunting tie bodice, was based on an all-black look that took to the Spring 2013 runway.

But this black-and-white version is far more interesting and Met Gala-appropriate.

Minimal Fred Leighton jewels completed the effect, although with such a dramatic shoulder detail, the necklace wasn’t really necessary.

If it there was someone we were excited to see step onto the red carpet of the 2013 MET Gala for the “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” theme, it was Gwen Stefani. But her black and white ensemble wasn’t as impressive as we expect her to rock with.

The singer wore a two-piece, custom-made Maison Martin Margiela ensemble that include a black satin ribbon-style pleated bodice that showed off plenty of skin, paired with a white satin floor-length skirt. She paired it up with black suede Giuseppe Zanotti t-strap sandals (from the Fall 2013 collection) designed with jewel embellishments and tapered column heels.

Gwen Stefani kept her accessories simple with just a white Salvatore Ferragamo geometrical-shaped clutch with gold trimmings, Fred Leighton bracelet, and a matching Fred Leighton choker necklace.
